We welcome expressions of interest from all eligible players for the Men's British Lacrosse Team to play in the World Games 2022 (TWG2022) in Birmingham Alabama from 7-11 July 2022.
You can see more about TWG2022 here: https://twg2022.com/sports/lacrosse/ With World Lacrosse having recently received full recognition from the IOC, the TWG2022 will be the first chance to showcase Sixes in the quest to return lacrosse to the Olympics in LA in 2028. The proposed training dates for the Men's British Lacrosse Team are as follows: Dates: 26th September (Invitational assessment day) 17th October - Training session 1 7th November - Training session 2 21st November - Training session 3 5th December - Training session 4 16th January - Training session 5 30th January - Training session 6 (TWG2022 squad to be selected after this date) 13th February - Training session 7 27th February - Training session 8 13th March - Training session 9 3rd April - Training session 10 8th or 15th May - Training session 11 (TBC) 12th June - Training session 12 17th - 19th June - Residential (Please note that all these dates are provisional and are subject to change and that there may also be additional dates added). It is also anticipated that there will be an acclimatisation camp in the USA immediately prior to TWG2022. As men's lacrosse is a demonstration sport (rather than being on the official programme like the women), all costs will need to be covered by the players. It is currently anticipated that this will be subsidised through fundraising and commercial partnerships. The BL board and staff are committed to working towards realistic player contributions, but it is too early to provide an indicative figure at this stage.
