Wales has taken part in every U19 World Championship since 1995. We are proud that many players have started their careers in the U19s and have gone on to play successfully for Senior Wales.Â
This World Championship campaign started in earnest in 2016 with the appointment of Mel Wiltshire as Performance Director. She recruited the management team for our U19 Programme from both retired players and specialist technical talent pools.Â
Players proudly pulled on their Wales shirts at the 2016 Home Internationals and have continued their successful development since then. In 2018, the team won the Bronze medal at the inaugural U20 European Championship in Poland.
Strong parental support, both financially and logistically, has made a crucial contribution to the momentum that has built over the last three years. Our Wales family has shown its strength and we are excited to take our place on the world stage.
