Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Wales Lacrosse seeks to appoint an experienced and motivated CEO.

The CEO will lead and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Wales Lacrosse, driving delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives.

They will also lead liaison with all national and international partners, funders and equivalent associations to support the growth and development of the game of lacrosse in Wales.

Wales Lacrosse is a small National Governing Body, supporting the development of lacrosse at all levels within Wales and for those of Welsh heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership across Wales Lacrosse, ensuring that the organisation delivers against its strategic objectives.

  • Lead the delivery of Wales Lacrosse’s strategy and the organisation’s performance management against this.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all relevant funders, sponsors and partner associations.

  • Support the governance, risk and financial management of Wales Lacrosse, ensuring that the organisation is managed effectively.

  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with members of the Executive Committee and Wales Lacrosse’s wider workforce, building and maintaining a positive organisational culture.

  • Work closely with the Chair and Executive Assistant to the Executive to ensure that meetings are well planned, meaningful and reflect the responsibilities of the Executive Committee.

  • Act as a spokesperson for Wales Lacrosse where appropriate.

Person specification

  • Proven senior leadership and managerial experience, and ability to work effectively leading and as part of a diverse team.

  • Good strategic vision and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent planning, organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong integrity and an open-minded approach to doing things differently to achieve agreed objectives.

  • A commitment to reflective practice in order to lead positive organisational change.

  • A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil the role effectively.

  • A passion for, and commitment to, the growth and development of lacrosse in Wales.

This is a volunteer role.
