Chair of the Executive Committee (Chair)
Wales Lacrosse seeks to appoint a Chair.
The Chair will provide strategic direction to Wales Lacrosse, leading oversight of the governance, financial management and overall administration of the organisation.
They will chair the Executive Committee and work closely with the Chief Executive and all members of the Committee to ensure that Wales Lacrosse works effectively to deliver its objectives and grow the game of lacrosse in Wales.
Wales Lacrosse is a small National Governing Body, supporting the development of lacrosse at all levels within Wales and for those of Welsh heritage.

Responsibilities
Provide leadership to Wales Lacrosse, ensuring that the organisation delivers against its strategic objectives.
Oversee the governance, risk and financial management of Wales Lacrosse, ensuring that the organisation is governed effectively.
Support and guide the Chief Executive in their work, while respecting the difference in the responsibilities of both roles.
Chair meetings of Wales Lacrosse’s Executive Committee, ensuring that the members of the Committee are fully involved and that decisions are taken in the best long-term interests of the organisation.
Work closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Assistant to the Executive to ensure that meetings are well planned, meaningful and reflect the responsibilities of the Executive Committee.
Build a strong and cohesive board, facilitating robust discussion and debate.
Foster and maintain constructive relationships with and between all members of the Executive Committee, building and maintaining a positive organisational culture.
Lead the appraisal of the Chief Executive and members of the Executive Committee’s performance on an annual basis, ensuring they are held to account for achieving agreed strategic objectives.
Act as an ambassador for Wales Lacrosse, including acting as a spokesperson where appropriate.

Person specification
Previous experience of working in a non-executive role. Previous Chair experience would be welcome but is not required.
Good strategic vision and ability to exercise independent judgement.
Strong integrity, and a willingness to speak their mind.
Proven ability to lead and work effectively as part of a diverse team.
Excellent planning, organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
A commitment to reflective practice in order to lead positive organisational change.
An understanding of the Chair’s legal duties and responsibilities, and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil the role effectively.
A commitment to the growth and development of lacrosse in Wales.
The position is unpaid.
