About Wales Lacrosse Women’s Programme
The programme consists of senior and u19s performance and development groups.
The programme has been created to provide the right level of support for every player to be able to achieve the goals they will set themselves. Whether those goals are self improvement on and off the field, or striving for excellence at National representative level our programme provides players with the right level and application of support to achieve.
Our needs centred coaching aims to develop players who are confident in making good decisions on and off the pitch. Who are self managing and reflecting. Are able to recognise their strengths and weaknesses and implement changes for themselves and others whilst being considerate and caring of their teammates.
We recognise that players develop at different rates and in different ways physically, mentally, socially, tactically and technically and ensure they are grouped so they feel comfortable, but challenged. The pathway allows players to enter at different stages and ensures that playing opportunities are appropriate for them to develop and continue to enjoy playing lacrosse through their lifetime.
Wales women also participate in a number of tours and competitions aimed at the appropriate level for the groups to ensure we have an excellent level of progression from the development and u19s to the senior performance programme.
